Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden pledged his service to you during his second inauguration ceremony, which took place on Thursday. Holden said cutting high poverty rates and fixing educational problems are on his to-do list for his second term.

The new city marshal in Denham Springs warns that if you have unresolved court issues, it's time to settle up. Jerry Denton took office Monday, and News 2's Mike Steele explains how the Marshal's Office staff isn't wasting any time.

The new mayor of Clinton could find it's harder to name a new police chief than he thinks. Don Reason is hoping to make the appointment this Wednesday, but as News 2's Rob Krieger found out, the people who have to approve the appointment might not show up to the meeting.

An 18-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon in a ride-by shooting. Tyrone St. Cyr was shot and killed in south Baton Rouge on South 15th and Olive. News 2's Claire Hatty has more on how neighbors are frustrated with the violence.

Friday morning started with gunfire on Keokuk Street. A man was shot while sitting on his front porch with his family. As News 2's Todd Ross reports, this was not the first time the man has been the victim of a gunshot.

A murder-suicide in Addis ends with a 7-year-old and his mother dead. An autopsy revealed on Friday that Lavinia Banks shot her son Dareyonne four times before dragging his body into a tub and killing herself. News 2's Dana Hackett has reaction from people who know the family.
